“I've followed Cord his entire career and watched him grow and expand his horizons. But I never thought he would come this far. He has really outdone himself on this one”

“SHERPA absolutely nailed it! I told them how I hoped it would turn out. Told them how much I love the stories of Tenzing Norgay and the Sherpa People and they came back with a stunning result"

SHERPA sets its sights on Sundance 2014

05 May 2013

The film crew is back in Nepal to film

Our story starts with an opening dramatic summit of Mount Everest followed by a reenactment of war and fighting in Kham and with the fleeing of hundreds of men, women and children refugees over the pass of Nangpa La and into the Thame valley in Khumbu. Our story depicts the life of the early Sherpa, farming, raising yaks and expanding their way of life, as they knew it for over 500 years. Our story develops into the story of Tenzing Norgay and the early days with Edmund Hillary and the summit of Mount Everest and how Norgay developed a mountaineering school and helped the Sherpa of Thame to see a new way of life guiding in the Himalaya. How the Sherpa started out as porters and cooks and worked their way into becoming highly sought after and experienced guides for hire by westerners seeking to conquer the peaks and summits of the Everest region. The story takes us through the life of Tenzing Norgay. The trials and tribulations, struggles with family, life as a Sherpa, and ultimately would become his greatest achievement, the first man to Summit Mount Everest. But this was only the beginning of the real story...

Great production-made me feel I was there with you during the fight for the top and mixed with the locals who live nearby was all it needed to be perfect Cord.  Color and editing was perfect-made me proud to be your friend-
